Jaiya Figueras, owner of Your Next Victory in Long Beach, visited our new gym in Costa Mesa. Jaiya has been involved in athletics, trained with some of the country’s best strength coaches and currently trains in Long Beach, CA. Check out what he has to say about the new facility and the future of strength, training and conditioning.
Lessons Learned:
1. Open Space allows a good personal trainer or strength coach to be creative. If a gym is full of equipment and machines, it should set off an alarm.
2. Training to your limits and developing mental strength. Learning to develop your mental strength is just as important as developing your physical body. Most people do not push themselves hard enough.
3. People need an emotional reason to workout. There needs to be a deep rooted motivation that drives you when times get tough, or it is easy to quit. Maybe it’s survival, your kids, a big event…
4. Success breeds success. When you find a gym that pushes your limits, learning to persevere and pushing through your limits can transfer into all areas of your life. If you quit in the gym, odds are, you quit on a lot of other things too.

Ugh...Innovative Results up!
Consistency has landed Jessica in the #1 spot after tallying votes from both the Innovative Results Team, and clients! Since April 5th, Jess has been attending 6:00AM workouts 5 days per week, and diligently keeping a daily food log. As of May 5th her efforts have paid off, losing 4.2lbs and shedding 1.5 inches from her waist line! In only one month!!
Awesome work Jessica!!
I started training with Innovative Results trainer, Aaron Guyett in 2006. Realizing 18-year-old bodies fade with age, and body maintenance was in order to keep jean sizes down, I knew some healthy changes were needed.
Six months after beginning my program, I had to stop. I attempted to maintain what I had learned from Aaron but quickly lost motivation, and workouts became infrequent and lackadaisical. Needing to be held accountable and shown motivational guidance, I returned to Innovative Results full-force in February 2009.
Like many of us, I needed someone to hold me accountable and sought out motivators to stay active in and out of the gym without becoming bored. Creativity and accountability were no longer obstacles. Everyday I am faced with a new workout set to challenge every muscle, removing any opportunity to meander aimlessly around the gym as I did before.

Yay! I fit in my little jeans! ...easily!
My energy increased and I could feel my body getting stronger, but it was time to conquer my weight loss goal. Starting April 5th, my trainer required me to send a daily food log. If I forgot to report my daily food intake, he would have a special exercise waiting for me the next time I came into the gym. This motivated me to consistently track my calories, and I even began to add in my own workouts to make up for any weekend splurges. I began to hold myself accountable, and by making the extra efforts I started to see the benefits immediately!
Support from the Innovative Results Team, and other clients have helped me develop a daily routine for both diet and workouts. I now work out 5-6 times a week, battling the early morning hours we all dread, hoping to motivate those around me and continue to build incredible client success stories.
We give praise to Jessica Cadenhead for bringing a positive attitude to our Innovative Results family!
Thank you Jessica and congratulations on your success!!

Let me start by saying that I am a really good girl with a lot of bad habits.
I might be a trainer’s worst nightmare.
I have way too much knowledge and an amazing gift to manipulate the majority of situations. Most trainers I have worked with after 10 minutes are totally distracted by my gift of gab that they forget their working. It always ends up the same way with me running the show.
I need someone to keep me on my toes and peak my interest. I have to be held accountable for my everyday nonsense. I want to be pushed to my limits and see my full potential. Fresh ideas and constant change keep me from getting bored.
Since leaving the show I can honestly say the only trainer who has met those standards is Corey Beasley from Innovative Results. I stand behind good people who show results and I will only put my name on something I truly believe in. I see a great deal of passion in my trainer and friend Corey as well as Innovative Results. I have been to countless gyms both private and corporate and have worked with several trainers in the last few years. I am NEVER usually impressed but this gym was different. I feel very comfortable going there and it’s an environment where you can truly feel the positive energy.
These are good people who take a genuine interest in their client’s everyday. Whether its diet, nutrition, strength training, rehabilitation or just healthy living you will find it with Innovative Results. It has helped me stay focused and maintain a healthy balance both physically and mentally.

Contestant from NBC’s Biggest Loser Season 2

I live in Irvine and met Corey Beasley, owner of Innovative Results, at a business networking event. Coincidentally we lived in the same neighborhood.
I am a graphic designer and typically spend 6-12 hours per day in front of the computer. I had just finished up a 3 month boot camp that got me in cardio shape, but now I wanted to build muscle because I was just cast in a musical called the “Full Monty” . If you know the story, you’d realize that I would be spending much of my time in a pair of boxers. That alone is a pretty good motivation to get the the gym, but I only had 3 months to develop a show stopping physique! Corey and I were up to the challenge!
About 90% of people that I’ve seen over the years never change.
They show up a few days a week, some more, but their bodies don’t change at all.
Why do they keep coming in?
Are they wasting their time?
I’m sure most of them figure that they are earning points for showing up to the gym..points with the doctor, their wife/husband, status among friends or whatever..some probably just show up out of habit or guilt. Most of these reasons deal with other people…the ‘feeling like I have to go’ motivation, which is very weak in most cases. but most people’s motivation really stems at their own self esteem and ego about looking better.
Tell a woman that she has to put on a bikini in front of 600 people and she will make the change. There is major motivation there. But if someone just feels like they need to lose some weight and buys a gym membership, there is no connection or deep seeded motivation to create the discipline and consistent effort that is needed.
In order you to get the fast, jaw dropping results, that we all desire, you are going to have to work…work hard…work consistently and probably gonna have to make some serious lifestyle changes to make it happen. So here are 5 things you will have to think about.
1. Write down the Desired Result! If you are gonna bust your ass for three months in the gym, what do you wanna do it for? What is your desired outcome? How do you want your body to look? What will change?
*the key when writing your goals the to use the SMART method. It needs to be specific, measurable, ‘as if now’, realistic and time based. For example: Today is December 31st, 2009 and I, Corey Beasley, can squat 400lbs. Now think about it, write them all down and we can move onto step 2.
2. Nutrition is the most misunderstood, most important factor you will deal with. People are seriously emotional when it comes to eating and most think of dieting as some torturous, agonizing penalty that forces them to eat salads everyday of their life. Nothing could be further from the truth. When you really learn what is healthy and how to properly integrate new foods into your lifestyle, you will be surprised how good food really is.
* The most simple way think of healthy eating is this: If GOD made it, eat it. or If it occurs in nature, eat it. The more we (man) touches it, RUN! Man has taken naturally occurring, amazing foods and has ruined it. Processing, pasteurizing, refining, adding to, preserving, genetically modifying, adding chemicals to and basically screwing it all up! The best cooks in the entire world only work with top quality ingredients and you should too.
3. Movement is the basis for exercise and most people spend their life at a desk, in a car and in front of the television. Gee, I wonder why everyone’s back hurts…hmmm. Most people just need to blow their ass off the couch and go for a walk. Others may belong to a gym, but either never go, are inconsistent or they have no intensity when they are there. I think this comes from a lack of motivation and knowledge. If you are uncertain about starting to workout or how to change up your current plan, ask for help! There is information all over the place!
*If you do look to hire a professional trainer, please take the time to investigate a good personal trainer or strength coach. Every local bodybuilder, gym rat or newbie fitness trainer does not understand the body, much less your body. If you look for advise, make sure the person is qualified and has experience dealing with people like yourself.
4. Recovering from your newly found lifestyle. If you go from sitting behind a desk to working out 3-5 days per week, you are going to encounter some minor aches and pains. Working hard in the gym may create some soreness, muscle tightness and other aches and pains. There are a variety of recovery tactics that have worked wonders for myself, like massages, ice, heat, contrast showers and many more.
* remember to start slow and listen to your body. Please take the time to learn movements correctly and consult a physician if any pains last more than a few days or swelling occurs.
5. Guidance during your new program is essential. Having someone that can teach you, motivate and push you during your program will be a huge factor in your success. It is proven that working out with a partner increases your chances for success significantly! It always makes you work harder, spot, correct and make sure that you are doing things safely and properly.
* Find someone who will hold you accountable so that you don’t get off track. You have proven up to this point that you don’t have the self discipline to do it on your own, so find somebody good and have them keep you focused this time.
So, why is it that you go to the gym? Do you have it written down?
I truly hope that it motivates you more than the obstacles or temptations you may have. Cuz, believe me, when you work hard and make huge progress, people WILL notice. They will be motivated and will look to you as an example. You will earn an kind of instant respect from people that know you. It will help you stand out from the crowd and you may start to carry yourself more confidently. Who knows, maybe you’ll even get a new job or even a raise!
Now go out there, kick butt and make something great happen this week.
No goals, no variety, no intensity!
Here are a few ways to help you change up your workouts to turbocharge your results!
Movements/exercise – Most people always do the same stuff. They run 2 miles everyday or they use the same machines at the gym or they take the same class for like 2 years. The bad part is that your body quickly adapts and stops really being challenged. When there is no challenge, the results slow to a hault and your body stabilizes leaving
you frustrated. What most people need is a new workout and the first place to start is by the exerises you choose to do. So, switch it up, try new things, use new machines, try not to use any machines, use dumbells, kettlebells, squat, bodyweight exercises, sleds, sand bags, etc. There is a world of possibilities!
I want you to be diligent and disciplined.
Write down what you are eating and bring it for me to see everyday you train with me.
Do something active on the days you don’t train and tell me about it the next time I see you.
Give me 100% when you train with me.
Laugh a lot and be happy!
Use only positive ways to communicate with me. If I hear negativity, I will make you change your self-talk right away.
