Susie has conquered a half marathon, 1 mile climb and a mile pull on the ropes…wonder what she’s going to accomplish this year!?

When I started at Innovative Results, I had just finished my first half marathon.  I thought I was in great shape.  Turns out all the cardio I was doing wasn’t actually making me stronger overall.

The first few times I trained with Tara were a real eye opener- I was being really challenged, and I was waking up sore the next day- all that only made me want more!  I quickly realized how important it is to be strong, and not just cardio strong.  I went from not being able to do five “real” pushups to completing challenges I never could have imagined like pulling a mile of rope or climbing a mile on the Versa Climber.

Tara has been an amazing trainer and teacher- always making sure to correct technique, tweak exercises and constantly encourage everyone to be the best they can.  I have seen results outside of just working out- I have more energy overall, and I’m really enjoying embracing a healthy lifestyle.

I haven’t even gotten to the best part- the people that work at and work out at, Innovative Results.  It is such a positive environment, and everyone wants everyone else to succeed. After moving to California a year ago, I am super thankful to have met the whole crew at IR.

Kasja dropped her mile run time by 30 seconds!

Kasja began running a few months prior to joining IR. With a plateau her running coach advised her to seek out cross training ideas. She found IR and has enjoyed rapid success.

We began to strengthen her whole body to create a longer more powerful stride. We worked on technique of movement to create consistency and prevent loss of energy thru her running motion. All this helped her decrease her run times.

She saw the biggest difference, however, when we spent time working on her breathing patterns. Breathing is crucial in delivering oxygen to the muscles to help endurance. After testing we found the best pattern for Kasja is 3 in 4 out. That’s inhaling for 3 strides and exhaling for 4 strides. If she wants to slow down then she goes to 4 in 5 out. If she wants to sprint then she goes to 2 in and 1 out.

Her mile time dropped by 30 seconds, and she ran an extra 2 miles because she could!

Talk about improvment!!

Way to go Kasja!

Payson has improved every aspect of his mental and physical health! Check out these results!

When Payson Davis first came to Warrior Training at Innovative Results he was out of shape and ready to change into a better, stronger, and faster person.

Old Payson:

  • Weighed a skinny 189 pounds and 6 foot 3 inches tall
  • Could barely run a mile
  • 30 push-ups in two minutes
  • 20 sit-ups in two minutes
  • His mile time was between 9 and half minutes and ten minutes
  • He quit a lot of things he would start
  • He had a negative attitude about most things

Well, Payson has decided to join the U.S. Army and do something about his areas needing improvement  (mindset, movement, and recovery)

Since joining Warrior Training at Innovative Results during the beginning of July (one and half months ago), Payson has improved incredibly in every area…

New Payson:

  • Weighs a POWERFUL 211 pounds, filling out his 6 foot 3 inches!
  • Finished a 3 mile run strong!
  • 30 push-ups in only one minute (The same in HALF of the TIME!)
  • 35 sit-ups in two minutes (15 MORE)
  • 1 mile run in 8:30
  • 1 mile vertical climb n the VersaClimber in under an hour! He was the first of the IR Family to accomplish this!!
  • Stronger mentally and physically
  • He can FEEL and SEE the DIFFERENCE!
  • Has more confidence in his abilities (this alone is worth it!)
  • Stopped quitting workouts all together
  • More positive mindset
  • Passed a MARINE CORPS CFT!

He also successfully performed 5 minutes on the battling ropes; 100 foot forward, backward, lateral right, and lateral left bear crawl, 1000 two-handed and single-handed kettlebell swings!!

Needless to say Payson’s mindset, movement and recovery TRANSFORMATION, pays great tribute to his HARD WORK, FOCUS, and the Warrior Training program at Innovative Results! Great work Payson!!! We are excited to watch you excel in U.S. Army Basic Training and beyond!!

BOOM!

Misty has lost nearly 25 lbs and over 7 inches in 3 months!

25lbs down and lost 7 inches! Wow!

I’d like to send a huge congrats to my client Misty!  During her last 3 months at Innovative Results, she’s lost 7 ¼ inches overall and close to 25 pounds.

For the past several years, Misty has worked organizing and planning events at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Needless to say, her job can be very stressful and requires long hours.  Misty’s hectic schedule would seemingly only allow her to grab quick, yet often unhealthy, meals to keep her going during the day.  And making time for fitness was placed on the back burner.  Over time, her weight steadily increased.

Misty realized that in order to maintain her health and reach her weight loss goals, she had to place fitness and nutrition as a priority in her life.  She’s currently training at Innovative Results 3 times per week and keeps a daily food log on livestrong.com.  I’m very proud of Misty for losing the weight, but I’m mostly excited about the fact that she’s improved her mindset to believe in herself and realize that she can maintain a healthier lifestyle!

Are there any benefits to running?

Although it should be reasonably clear by now why running is one of the better things you can do to improve your health, there are still people wondering what the benefits of running are.

Well, if you aren’t a runner yet, I hope you’ll consider being one after having read my blog. I’ll cover the most important benefits of running here.  If that’s not enough to change your mind, I don’t know what will!

One of the most obvious reasons people choose to get into running is weight loss.

I’ve always been in pretty good health, played most sports as a youth, so for me, it wasn’t so much the same reason as most others.  For me, it was seeing other fellow runners, friends, clients. etc. and how much they enjoyed it.  About a year ago, one of my former clients Julie came to me and said “I’m really bored with my workout routines, I want to try something new”…I immediately knew what to suggest…running!  I told her to give running a try, and even though she was skeptical at first, she fell right in love with it! I even told her that if she trained for a 5K I would run her first one with her…guess what, she did awesome!

A lot of my current clients are running or are picking up the habit through positive reinforcement from each other!

I have clients who were never avid runners before, and are now doing 5K’s, 10K’s, mud runs.  My client Shane Galitski is going to Hawaii in September to compete in a Half Marathon!  He’s been training with me at the IR gym, and outside the gym prepping himself for the race!  He’s going to do awesome because he has the motivation, the drive and all of his peers cheering him on!  Shane has been inspirational!  My other clients Curt and Caroline Flemming and Kathy York are now busting out 5K and 10K races now!  And it’s been awesome getting to participate with them in some of the events!

The benefits of training are life changing!

Once you start running the fat in your body will make place for new muscle!  There are so many benefits to running it’s crazy!  Once you start on a normal routine, the dietary benefits kick in as well.  You no longer have a desire to want to eat unhealthy, and even when you slip up and do, your metabolism in burning at a faster rate to help you out a  little bit…at least that’s what I have experienced! The mental benefits of running have been proven to create better sleep patterns and in some cases cure clinical depression!  Also what are the benefits of running over some other typical forms of exercise?  Once you have your running shoes, socks, shorts, and t-shirt you are good to go anywhere in the world, whether you are traveling a lot or not. Whether you have irregular shifts or not. You can always go for a run.

My clients have motivated me to run, and it’s been one of the greatest things for me!  I have already completed a few 5 and 10K’s, mud runs and one Ragnar Relay (which was the best thing ever!).  I will be competing in my second one with my other client Ray Vincent in September, when out 12 man relay team will travel from San Francisco to Napa Valley!

With all these great benefits…how can you say no to running!?!?

Arthroscopic surgery hasn’t slowed down Danielle. She is back on the field and stronger than ever!

Danielle is a collegiate athlete.

She plays soccer at Barry University in Miami, Florida.

After years of competition, she had to have arthroscopic surgery on one of her knees.  After surgery on May 12, she did therapy and then workout at Innovative Results to get back in top shape.

Danielle Mabie just passed her team’s endurance fitness test for the first time ever!

“Thanks Jeff, I couldn’t have done it without you!”

Congratulations Danielle!

Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your season!

Congratulations to Ian McCall for winning the TPF Title!

New TPF 125lb Champion!

After 4 tough fights this year, Ian overtook previous champion,Darrell Montague in last Friday’s main event.  Ian’s movement, combinations and relentless pace allowed him to overwhelm Montague and eventually led to a 3rd round submission victory.

We are all proud of Ian’s consistency, hard work and focus this year!

Next stop, UFC Championship!

Did you miss the fight?  Here it is…

Andy lost 53lbs and is back in the cage!

Andy has been training and fighting for over 10 years.  After incurring an injury he gained over 50lbs and was not able to train for a year.

Coach Rafael Cordeiro, Andy (before), 'Shogun' Rua

He came to Innovative Results wanting to get back into fight shape.  He committed to training 3 days per week, made the necessary lifestyle changes and has been the example of consistency over the last 8 months.

This week Andy got back in the cage for the first time in almost 2 years.  Weighing in at 169lbs, he had officially lost 53 lbs and was in the best shape of his life!  The cool part is that Andy is not finished.

Overcoming his injury and other obstacles is just the beginning.  Andy is continuing his training at Innovative Results and will keep getting stronger and better conditioned for his upcoming fights.

Keep up the good work Andy!  Your hard work and consistency are paying off!  Thanks for being a part of our IR family!
