If you’re like two thirds of working Americans, you pick up lunch from a fast food joint or restaurant at least once a week. Sure, it’s not as healthy as packing your own lunch, but eating out every once in a while can’t hurt, right?
Not so fast: You’re Dead Wrong!
Not only could the window worker pile an entire day’s worth of calories through your car window with one serving, but soon after you will be sucking your energy and productivity right back out that window: Carb overloads lead to energy spikes and crashes, and studies have shown that the bigger your waistline, the lower your cognitive functioning and the more sick days you take.
Kind of ironic, considering “convenience” is the most common reason people give for buying lunch during the workday. In this economy, it’s hardly convenient to snore through the 2 o’clock meeting, or miss a few crucial days when the boss is looking for you.
A healthy lunch can help you maximize your afternoon performance, but if you’re in a hurry to grab and go, you might not take the time to sort through the menu hits and misses. Let the Eat This, Not That! folks be your efficiency experts: DON’T order the following items. Opt instead for less outrageous alternatives (also below), and reap the benefits at bonus time.

It’s hard enough to make the argument for one cheese Danish, but five? And we’re just talking fat, here — with more than 1,000 calories of the stuff in just one sandwich. You’re also be filling up with more than a day’s worth of sodium and saturated fat. While this is one of the worst items you could choose, the rest of the Quizno’s menu has hazards, as well.
But if your coworkers insist on eating there, order this:

Even better, the Low-Carb Thickburger is true to its name — it only has 5 grams of quick-burning carbohydrates, compared to 46 grams in the Monster.

I have done some bad things in my day, and I can say from experience, none of them would have happened if I could have stopped doing anything, breathed, observed my present situation, and let my spirit and the Universe or God guide me into my thoughts, words, and actions. I would have never stolen. I would have never punched that guy, or that other guy, or that other guy, and the list goes on. I would have never done a lot of things, which I am apologetic for. I do not regret anything I have ever done, though. This is something for the soul and from my soul. I can live everyday knowing I am doing the right things most of the time and see that everything has happened for a reason.
If it wasn’t for some of those horrible mistakes, I might not be living the life I have right now, what I consider to be the most blessed and happy life I have ever felt. I am truly excited everyday for my existence, and feel love, happiness, and abundance in every moment i experience the space-time continuum here on earth.

Aaron Guyett wrote this at the beginning of 2008. He had just gone through a lot of life issues, but it is interesting to point out, that now nearing the end of 2008, he had a pretty good run. He partied in New Orleans, Orange County, San Diego, LA, Moscow Russia, and South Padre Island; his business grew enormously with a couple of strategic position changes; he sailed the Caribbean; he did charity work in India; and lastly he got to be a part of the best personal trainers, the best team, and have the best friends in the world! I sit in an excited, anxious, and rollercoasting heap of thoughts. I cannot wait to see how this year pans out. I have many exciting opportunities, and many real issues intertwined to give my experience a run for its money. I truly await in great anticipation, and find it hard to just be. I am all about living in the present tense, but with this much commotion it is hard to concentrate on now, focus on here, and let it just be.
I relay these thought to help me generate a foothold on which I can begin to create my presence and my being. As I perch myself on plane’s door, outside of the plane. The wind wants to rip you off in its unforgiving way, but I won’t stand for that. I hold my grip tight looking at nothing, taking in everything. Life has a way of not existing in these tiny moments. Every thought is fleeting, and every second is booming. Time slows, noise is gone, senses are on overload, and then you release.
As I drove down to San Diego for another ultimate thrill. I think only good thoughts and I get a roller-coaster of excitement, anticipation, anxiety, and humorous comments from John Madden. Every time at about the toll road we exchange thoughts about relationships, love, forgiveness, getting over someone, and living free. This is the reality of our lives, but we know where we are headed is the ultimate reality, which creates the ultimate thrill. WE do something few have ever tried and most will never do. We cheat death, and laugh at ourselves the whole time. It is time for our medicine and the prescription is thrill.
Weightlessness consumes my body, and the wind and velocity from the plane pulls me in a forward direction, while simultaneously gravity has such a strong power over me, that I begin my plummet to the earth. Earth is surreal from this perspective, but soon it becomes a real perception of my mind, creeping steadily closer and growing incrementally bigger. I do a few maneuvers in the air, always astounded at how well the wind whips me into strange positions. This is called inexperience, but I am learning the ways of wind manipulation more on each jump. This wind and human relationship is my only sense of control, besides the sweet little hackie hanging close to my right butt cheek. I notice the ground becoming detailed and look to my left hand for altitude, noticing it is probably time for me to wave off and pull.
