When a very close friend battled cancer, doctors told her that there was nothing they could do. The cancer had spread throughout her body and typical treatments did little to help. Doctors had given up.
She moved out to California and connected with a doctor out here, that took her under his wing and helped her revamp her life. She altered every aspect of her life, one being that she always had to make plans months in advance. This doctor wanted her to think ahead and plan cool things to do in the future…some were next week, others for next year.
I believe that people are better during “the chase”. If you take a minute and think about the happiest times in your life, I bet you were on the path to something, someone or some very specific goal. Maybe it was your husband or wife, your pregnancy, a child, a sporting event, a milestone or something similar.
My uncle is 70 years old this year and rides his Harley thousands of miles a year. Why? Because he enjoys riding with other veterans and participates in several rides that support our troops. He looks forward to riding with them and it gives him something to be a part of.
A friend’s dad is 82 and still runs marathons. Why? Because he refuses to stop participating in life. He enjoys going to the gym, working out and having a new race to train for.
A close friend and client is training, sacrificing and improving everyday, so that he can become a world champion and provide for his family.
Aaron and Keri have had a whirl wind year, getting married and now planning for their first baby. They are enjoying the ride.
I truly believe that we all do better when we are chasing something. It forces us to focus, stay on track and overcome obstacles. Its not the easy road, but that’s why we like it. Challenges force us to improve and make progress.
So, here’s my question…
What are you looking forward to?

I totally agree, I have felt this sensation many times when I would be on the bus heading towards a wrestling tournament. The feeling that I now get to use all of the skills that I worked so hard to gain. Also by focusing on that all road blocks that came up in my life affected me very little.
