The first Non-profit highlighted in IR’s Costa Mesa City Transformation Challenge is Costa Mesa’s very own Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.
No discrimination is served here! Everyday Someone Cares Soup Kitchen provides a daily nutritional meal to anyone who enters their doors.
Founded by Merle Hatleberg, Someone Cares Soup Kitchen has provided over 300 meals every day for the past 20 years to all in need of a nutritional meal. Read more here…

Someone Cares Soup Kitchen is open 7 days a week, serving from 1:00PM to 4:00PM (Monday-Friday), and is open for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00am to 11:00am.
