When I hear that people are going on a diet, I cringe, because they usually mean that they are going to eat salads and boiled chicken breasts for a few days, freak out and then say that diets don’t work. One of the easiest ways to think about healthy eating is to recognize that it is a lifestyle, not a temporary thing. Eating healthy, quality foods is enjoyable, but most people need to expand their knowledge and taste buds a bit.
Here is a list of 25 different proteins to try:
- Cage free eggs
- Cartons of egg whites
- Lean ground turkey
- Skinless chicken breasts
- Lean ground beef
- Lean ground bison
- Bison steaks
- Grass fed steaks
- Pork chops
- Venison
- Other wild game meats
- Wild caught Salmon
- Wild Caught Tilapia
- Wild Caught Orange Roughy
- Wild Caught Catfish
- Wild Caught Trout
- Wild Caught Rockfish
- Wild Caught Cod
- Wild Caught Shrimp
- Wild Caught Scallops

- Sardines

- and anything else that had eyeballs and was raised naturally and free of crazy hormones, funky feed or altered by man.

I’d recommend choosing one or two items and surfing the web for some new, healthier recipes using those new proteins. This will make the transition to healthier eating more simple and less overwhelming. Over time, you will gather a ton of new recipes, figure out what you and your family enjoy and be able to eat tastier foods!
